Frequently asked questions

Is CalcSolver really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no download and no paywall. The site is supported by advertising.

Which financial year do the tax calculations use?

The Income Tax and HRA calculators use FY 2026-27 (AY 2027-28) rules — the same year as the current Union Budget. We update the slabs whenever the Budget changes them.

Is this financial or tax advice?

No. These are educational calculators for planning purposes only, not financial, tax or legal advice. For a specific situation, consult a chartered accountant or SEBI-registered advisor.

Are my numbers saved or uploaded anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored by us.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The layout adapts to any screen size and works in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox.
